I offered the same and lost the home. It’s nuts. We loved the home and subdivision so I went over.

Never bet against yourself when buying a house. There will be others.

I am now seriously considering putting ours on the market just to see what happens since our neighbor sold immediately for a ridiculous price.

Same thing going on around here but if I sell at a premium where am I going to go? Buy something else at a premium or just rent until the bubble burst? What if that never happens?

I guess I could always move to the farm

Really good time to have multiple properties.

This is my first time "home-buying" although we own our current property. Offered on about 8 homes thus far in the last month or so. Not having a very fun time. I can't get past offering more than 10-15k over AND waiving the appraisal addendum completely. Really don't want to pull from stocks/crypto to help cover the difference in case appraisals come in way under offer.

But in the grand scheme of things, if you have the cash available and you have a home to sell. Wouldn't the extra value on the current property offset the cost of the new house? Even if the market corrects itself, my property will go down just like the new ones were are looking at.

I feel like this is consuming my life when it's supposed to be a "fun" process. Now even if I wanted to build with the company I work for I would have to wait months to even contract.

Might be a good idea to rent for 1-2 years. Not fun to throw away rent money but the real estate is going to crash. How much and how far is anyone’s guess. I am a professional in this department and it’s coming as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow.

You’re right, but every box was checked plus extras. I could not not try for a little extra.

Found two more, stayed true to budget, and gone within 9 hours of listing. Going to look at another this morning.
Have been thinking about building too, but lumber is sky high right now.
I’ll find something eventually, but it’s definitely stressful at the moment

County appraisals in Travis County are always lower than the actual value.
