So much agreement from me in this statement. I go to church pretty regularly, but I take everything and evaluate it's legitimacy for myself and see how it fits into my faith and spirituality.

I can barely speak for myself. I'm certainly not speaking for the spiritual emotional and mental health of a billion Christians. I'm just saying that people from all and no faiths find plenty of reasons and ways to be miserable.

I don't really care either way but it's kinda funny that according to those stats you posted there are no atheists in prison.

As an agnostic I despise atheists more than religious folks. Atheists are making the exact same logical falacys as the people they ridicule, only their belief is in the opposite spectrum.

They ask me to prove the existence of God.
Well I ask them to prove he DOESNT exist!

Much like a foxhole.

It's a fine line to tell kids to have respect for their future spouse by not having sex until marriage and telling them they'll go to hell if they don't. That's what churches need to focus on: do you want your future husband/wife being with someone else before you? If not, then you should respect them and wait.

horse shite. The Catholic Church doesn't make 10 yr old girls sign a purity pledge.
I was a 10-year-old Catholic girl once. I'm pretty sure I did something like this.

When did this purity ring thing start? I grew up in the 70's & 80's and I'd never heard of these until a few years ago. I thought they were a new thing.

There was a big abstinence movement led mostly by Baptist churches in the 90s that popularized these purity pledges.
Even then, only the extreme Westboro types would ever try to link it as a ticket to hell.
