You never want to tangle with HR, ever, especially at a large company. Anonymous, yeah, ok. More like a target on your back. Not to mention, who gives a frick about her opinions.

Interesting that you’ve spent the entire thread focusing on how much you think OP is a pussy and not any of it on how she’s in the wrong.

I've said it probably a half dozen times that noone should talk politics in the office, but you don't make it that far because you get your panties in a wad before that

Sure you can, anyone that talks politics in a professional setting, on either side of the aisle, is an idiot

Document EVERYTHING

If you sent any e-mails regarding the situation, PRINT them out and save them. B/C e-mails will “mysteriously” disappear off your account.

Have your facts incase something would to happen.

She mouthed off about the WC, you and some other dude disagreed, the situation was dropped

So you file a complaint

And then you get online to claim you're subject to a hostile work environment

As someone who works in the medical field in Portland, OR I learn to keep my mouth shut when it comes to anything political for obvious reasons

And knows the consequences, if they don’t then they don’t need to be there. Again turn the tables on this.

What do you expect me to do? The employer I work for is the largest employer in my state, never mind my city. I've already said there is very little chance that I would find this type of job at a comparable salary. I would either have to take a pay cut or move to another state. I might do that eventually but I don't want to do that at this point.

Either accept that you sold your soul to the highest bidder or quit and find work that is a good fit for you.

"the Area Leader" - yeah, joining an organization with this job title is the first clue. Run like hell from that place.

Before I started engaging you you called him a pissy 4 times and a snowflake once. You said talking about politics in the office is stupid once.

Should I have just taken it?
You did just sit there and take it. Snitching after the fact is a bitch move. "Not taking it" would have been to speak up right then and there and ask that everyone drop the political conversation. THEN see what she did and react to that. You don't have to defend DJT, but you can ask that politics be set aside. Newsflash: Companies can choose to keep the environment politically neutral (or not). It's their choice. My work would expect a neutral political environment. The NFL not so much.

As in? It's pretty fricking simple, don't talk politics in the workplace. If they do and you get that offended by it (because you're a bitch), tell HR that there is political talk in the office, nothing more.

Second time in one thread you showed you couldn't count

And by the way, these things aren't mutually exclusive

Then why the hell are you anonymously complaining to HR? Put your big boy pants on and move on.
