I mean, Barry O has been seen being pretty "comfortable" with one of his close advisors on the beach.

Almost certainly was the first gay president.

Rumours abound concerning the 16th President and at least one other about at least having a certain "flexibility" in his sexuality.

Not that a gay person couldn't be a good president, but the notion that the Dems will nominate another untalented, inexperienced schmuck simply because he or she is gay.

You mean like the Republicans ran Sarah Palin for Vice President because she's a woman?

We currently have a gay president married to a another man. The spouse still deemed the first lady.

It hadn't looked this fabulous since Jackie Kennedy held court.

An openly gay black female nominee would win even if she ran on the basis of getting rid of the constitution

I'm guessing you meant openly gay. Because I doubt that you got the chance to ask each of the prez about their sexuality

If that were true, both parties would be falling all over themselves to find one to nominate. Even a straight black female wouldn't stand a chance.

Obama won the presidency in spite of being black, not because of it.

That would likely help with our friends on the left.

Demonstrably not true - many, many people turned out to be "part of history" - Obama's "blackness" (not trying to be offensive - just trying to express it in terms everyone can understand) - despite his having very little in common with the average African American voter, was extolled as a reason for blacks to vote in record numbers, as well as allow "white guilt" to be expunged by voting for this woefully unqualified candidate.

Again, it is a shame that the first black president couldn't have been meritorious on his/her own right, with the mere coincidence of race (the MLK model - judged by content of character), rather than what will be forever referred to as the Affirmative Action presidency.

Sad. Hillary will be next - the "Title IX" presidency, although, on paper, she will be far more qualified than BHO was in November 2008, that's for sure (and I hate HRC and was, initially, happy that BHO got the nomination in 2008).

The First Lady is a role filled by a woman appointed by the President. It does not have to be his wife. The main duty is to serve as hostess of the White House. Perhaps future president Aiken can have his mother or BFF be First Lady.

I would imagine he would still retain the title of First Lady.
