Not sure if that makes much difference. I know that he sen back crates and crates of guns that were confiscated before they made it back to Louisiana. This is the stuff he was able to get though.
Not ww2 related but long long ago way before the war grandpa grew up in Saint Bernard. They had a dairy farm and their pasture land was the battle field. My dad thinks he found this there.
