Well you've never been around our kids. My kid can catch the ball awesome, throw good, and he's in the outfield every game.
I'm not going to argue with y'all. Only 3 teams in our league, do similar things we do. The rest look like normal t ball. The draft teams in our league also look like normal t ball. I might add, most of our kids are in their 3rd year.
I can hear the conversation now: "Oh, yes they are all under the age limit..."

end of the year tourney
is this some kind of rec league that you're beating up on the weaker teams?
Take your little t-bll all stars the the World Series in Sulphur and play against some of those little tball teams from South Texas....then you'll see some little baseball players

So, tball is what - 5 under, right? So according to this guy, they have been playing tball since 2?

Our team actually is kind of like a farm system for the coaches pitch and kids pitch teams. We all have the same name. They have one tournament team. Some parents choose not to do the travel ball. Our team hasn't practiced in two weeks, we just have good kids. We don't yell, argue calls, none of that. We teach them fundamentals, and the right way to play. Every team has that one kid who "gets it" at a young age. We have 10 of them. But we are a select team and we get that option.

Nah baw, he said its mostly 6 year olds which meant they've been around the sport since they were 3. Pointless argument is pointless

You can't turn 7 before march 31st. 4 - 6 year olds.
We have 8 that have to move up.

Current coach and former local league President's opinion:
T-Ball is about fun, the basics, sportsmanship, learning about being on a team and things of that nature.
T-Ball is not about competition or keeping score.
But I will say this --- kids at age 4-5 are tough to deal with: attention spans, their still young, some parents baby them too much, etc. But this is something you're aware of going in. So you make it fun and try to teach them a few basic things.

I think he's saying most of his team is made of of 6 yr olds with a few 5's and 4's.
I'm not going to call him a liar. All I'm saying is that in my years of coaching I've never seen a kid less than 6 years old that can catch on a consistent basis. You'll see kids under 6 that can throw at least somewhat consistently but catching is a different matter due to the fact that before someone can learn to catch their reflexes have to develop enough to allow them to react in time to something thrown in their direction. And in kids 5 and under, it's not that they lack the talent to catch, they just have not developed the reflexes yet. And you can't teach reflexes, they have to come naturally, which they do usually around 6 to 7 years old.
