Termites do not eat wood.

They swallow wood that is then digested by microbes, which in turn produce liquid digested by termites.

Celebrated scifi novelists Philip Dick and Ursula LeGuin went to the same Oregon HS at the same time, but didn't know each other

Alfred Nobel (Nobel Peace Prize) is the guy that invented dynamite.

He also owned Bofors, an arms manufacturer.

Another fun fact - he established the Nobel Prizes because

After reading a premature obituary which condemned him for profiting from the sales of arms, he bequeathed his fortune to institute the Nobel Prizes.

Nicholas Cage and Michael Jackson are Eskimo brothers. In fact, they shared the same wife. Elvis Presley’s daughter.

Balugas are very unique, I got in the water with them at the Seaworld In San Diego, of course, had to wear a wetsuit, water is frigid.

I think Sea World San Diego is maybe only exhibit where you can pay to get in the water with them. Was a cool experience

The west coast of South America is east of the east coast of North America.

When Napoleon invaded Egypt, he spent a night alone in the burial chamber of the Great Pyramid. When he emerged, he wouldn't speak about it. Years later, on his deathbed, he began to tell his doctor, then murmured, "you wouldn't believe it anyway."

In a room of 23 people, there is a 50/50 chance that 2 of them will have the same birthday.

75 people in the same room? 99.9% , 2 will have the same birthday.
