I was fishing 18nm away when the rig caught fire and eventually exploded. We went to help and were on the first boats on scene. In fact the only other boat there or on the VHF was the Damon B Bankston when we arrived. I have picture in this thread Origianl Deepwater Post I also have video that I have not released.

I'm saying they were or were not there just I didn't here them on the VHF and the Coast Guard requested us to assist so I'm not sure why they left or said they were told to leave. You help when a dissaster such as this happens offshore IMO!
