Maybe we just need an emergency inspection of all oil and gas pipelines that travel through our state. You know in light of the recent oil disaster we cannot be too careful. I think a couple of months should be enough time to fully inspect the pipelines and ensure that all can safely transport hydrocarbons. In the meantime no product can be sent through the pipelines. Surely no one could fault the state for making sure that we don't have another disaster.

How about a six month inspection with new state policy to follow.

I hope they listened

I just read in the paper today that the multiplier effect of the drilling ban is starting to cost jobs in other states. If enough states get involved and put the pressure on, just maybe the White House will come to their senses about this joke of a policy.

that's the worst part of it, politically anyway. Louisiana has basically been written off and left to die and are disproportionately impacted compared to other states. We will not be able to beat Florida with Texas remaining silent.

Rick Perry has been publicly fighting with BHO since Day 1, so it would take more than Texas. Shutting down the pipelines that carry products up the East Coast, including Washington, DC is the correct answer. Let them get their fuel from local refineries...oh, wait, they don't have any. The ones that did exist have been regulated out of existence.

I agree that Jindal should at least threaten to shut down the pipeline, if not actually do it, until he gets some cooperation from Washington, but don't we get alot of oil on the east coast from the New York/New Jersey/Delaware area? I don't know as much about this as I should, but I'm trying to learn more
