Ny heart really goes out to you. Seriously.

Duck hunting
Crabbing
Shrimping
Fishing
Oyster fishing
Deer hunting
Rabbit hunting
Frogging
Boating in genereal

All of this lies in jeopardy in a substantial way. I am not trying to say this is over. But, losing these forms of recreation/income does seem to be in the realm of possibilities for a considerable period of time. I pray that this is not the case.

Losing this way of life is hard to contemplate.

I started a thread asking if any other recreational fisherman were also thinking of selling their boats about week 2 and got jumped for it. It seems to me even more a relevant question know in my eyes. JMO

I agree, I'm already contemplating a long summer without possibly being able to participate in these tradtions. I look forward year round to my summer fishing trips, wade fishing trips and crabbing out of Grand Isle.

It's no more relevant than when you brought it up a couple of weeks ago. It isn't like there is nowhere else to go, you just may have to learn a new area. And hopefully by next year you will be able to return to your old haunts......unless your just looking for an excuse to sell your boat. But hell if more people share your sentiment, I wouldn't mind picking up a good deal.

Everything West of the Atchafalya is open, I dont see why you can just fish out that way. All it take is learning a new area

But for how much longer? The oil gusher is still pumping oil into the Gulf maybe until August and we don't know the long term effects of this Corexit s***.

If the fishing, shrimping, crabbing etc go away so will I. There really wouldn't be much reason for me to stay in LA.
