My mom loves this movie and growing up she would watch it anything it was on. I never watched it in whole, but parts of it was filmed near the Mississippi river, on the west side. She wasn't born yet when it was filmed, but one of my grandmothers friends had several ball dresses, that's what she did. Made dresses for mardi gras balls.
