Damn, that Sarah Hildebrand would be one tough date.
But so worth it.

Men's freestyle started this morning.
Aaron Brooks looked really nervous in his first match but got it done. He better win the gold after keeping David Taylor off the team.
Spencer Lee dominated with a tech fall but could get eventually get caught trying to force that fireman's.

Both Brooks and Lee are in the semi's. Hope this the year Kyle Dake can break through At 33 probably his last chance..

They have both looked very impressive. Going to be a lot of fun to watch.

Too bad Brooks lost. He's going for the bronze.
Lee and Higuchi should see a lot of points in that match.

Dake's in the semis but has a tough rematch with Takatani from Japan. Kyle beat him with a late pushout at the world champs last year.
Parris, our 125kg, fricked around in his first match and is out. There was a questionable challenge his opponent won but he still had chances to win and couldn't get it done.

Kennedy Blades is going for gold at 76kg. on the women's side.
Hope Dake can get it done. Tremendous career won everything but Olympic gold.
Only one to ever win 4 consecutive NCAA championships at 4 different weights.

Tough day for the Americans. Spencer Lee gets beat 4-2 and get silver. Kyle Dake loses in the semi's and is wrestling for bronze. Kyle Synder starts his quest today.

Snyder rolled to the semis but Zain got beat bad by a tough Iranian. There's no shame in losing to a top guy but I don't understand how he can work so hard to get to the games only to be passive when he actually gets out on the mat.
And Kennedy Blades sent her first opponent off on a stretcher with a max amplitude move. She won a close quarters later.

Brutal. No gold for the first time since 1968.
Brooks was probably the best in his weight class but his inexperience showed.
