That cracklin place that sells the plastic baggy of cracklins ain't real good either..

But, I've already nominated you for a hog guide at illusions, due to your vast knowledge of the lay of the land,, primarily, the parking lot.

Sounds like somebody didn't enjoy their time at the lovely Illusions gentlemen's club.

Is the puss oozing, herpie blister on the shite encrusted arse hole that is Woodville. The gate keeper of this house of sin and disease is the most vile, disgusting, low life piece of shite ever to breath. The best thing that could happen to that place is if a meteor filled with acid crashed through the roof and lodged itself into the dick hole of this guy before exploding

There has to be some awesome story behind this. Please tell.

Pearl River WMA is loaded with hogs

I've never hunted on public land....how does it work?

Do you just show up and start shooting things?

Are there stands? How safe is it that I wont get shot by another hunter? How crowded is it?

TIA

I did a little research and it doesn't seem like the safest place to hunt, unless you access the less traveled areas by boat. I just want to shoot a damn hog. I hear all the time about hog problems throughout the south. You would think land owners would be falling over themselves to get paid to let others kill their problems.

Pretty much.

Nope. Bring your own climber or lock on or a ground blind.

If you wear orange it's probably more dangerous to drive there than it is to hunt there.

If you go on any dates for rifle or primitive weapon hunting for deer, there will be more hunters than animals on the WMA. Other days it's considerably better, but a general rule is that you need to get away from the roads and trails to see game.

Pearl River WMA is not that bad. Go in, find a place to pull over, and hunt. There are trails you can walk down and then duck off of as well. Plenty of room and plenty of hogs. Google map it and go check it out.

Seen many hogs on the main trails and the roads so don't think you have to get way back in there.

What are the regs on hog hunting? Daylight hours any time of year? Basic hunt license?

basic license. Use what ever caliber is open for season. Since Deer is closed, you can use whatever small game caliber. I killed with 22 mag, 22, 12ga #4

thanks for the information

Can you bring your own corn and hunt over that?

Additionally, can you walk around and try to stalk a hog or do the regs require you to stay put?

This is a WMA, since you are very unfamiliar with the laws and rules that apply to these lands, I high recommend you head over to the LDWF website and read up and then ask questions.

Didn't get thrown out. Walked out and made it to the parking lot

To the OP

If there are hogs, they likely have deer and the place is probably already leased. Any land that's but leased probably won't ever be until it gets new owners
