Any word on the hog poison they were working on?

I read about it on here. It’s it still in the works? Or did it get axed?

They put it out briefly a couple years ago and then axed it due to worry over pos bears.
I feel like hog numbers have been down in recent years.

Not at my place. Went from seeing one here and there to having 6 on camera a night

It’s currently in the EPA approval stage. There is no issue with the bait/poison itself because it’s just sodium nitrate. Yep, same stuff that’s in sausage, just a higher dose. The key element is the delivery system, which currently consists of a trough with a remotely automated lid.
So the notion is to have a camera similar to a Jager Pro MINE camera that has a transmitter in it. So the operator gets photos via an AP, sees the pigs and opens the trough thru the AP. Then when they’re gone, he closes the lid so no non-targeted species consume the poison.
My understanding is that operators will be required to have a pest control certification by the State, or at least some type of certification.
We needed this yesterday. I became a dealer in LA and SW MS for Jager Pro when I retired, and have caught over 1100 pigs in 10 years on my place, but with this poison, it would be way easier and more efficient.
As usual the feds are lolly gagging while the pigs are tearing up the world.

We have created quite the void this year on our property. Eliminating entire sounders within days of them showing up.
A good trap is the best answer right now. Haven’t seen more than a roaming boar here and there on camera in months.
The poison will do just as good as a trap but with less work

Jäger Pro makes some good stuff. Good folks (mostly retired military and LEO's). Their home office is right down the road from me.
