I learned the hard way.
all all I had to do was pull the trigger assembly apart and reset a little lever.

Don't those guns have hammers you can lightly relieve the stress on the spring? That's not the type gun I'm talking about.

My little boy has a .22 that was made in the 40's. The spring in the bolt is weak and probably misfires 1 out of every 10 rounds due to not enough strike.
I spoke to a gunsmith and he said there is no way to disassemble the bolt and replace the spring. There are so few of those guns around, he said I'll probably never find a bolt to replace the bad one with.

Just make sure it's empty before dry firing. Had a buddy do this last year and he shot a 10mm round into his liberty safe. Dude couldn't hear for a week
