Yes; the whole shooting in the yard thing is a very situation-specific decision. I'm fortunate that it works for me. BTW you asked about 3D targets. Note that Pearl River has all sorts of animal targets at various ranges. It is likely worth the drive for you to check out. I do recommend using cheapo lighted nocks in case you miss. I lost two expensive arrows rather quickly out there.

I used to. Made arrows for a lot of people with custom crests and feathers. Back then I could make complete arrows as fancy as you’d want for about $2 a piece but the price of raw cedar shafts have gotten stupid. Used to have a quiver full of everything, flu flus, judo tipped, rubber blounts, regular field tips. The crests and feathers were all the same but the nocks were color coded to the tip. Practiced by shooting everything walking thru the woods. Stumps , trees, dirt piles, birds, squirrels, rabbits. Cedar shafts are extremely durable but high as hell now.
Wanna to really get your instinctive groove on, shoot at night. Shine a light on the target but shoot from the dark. Hard to cheat when you can’t see the arrow

I don’t know if LTB, Louisiana Traditional Bowmen, is still a thing but it used to be a good club. They had 3-D shoots that were top notch

There is a bow range at the Pearl River WMA shooting range
Where is this? Not finding much online unless you are referring to the Honey Island Shooting Range?

Yes, it is part of the Honey Island Swamp Shooting Range. As you walk to the main gate it is immediately to the right.

I'm just seeing this post.
Yes, we have a 40"ish" yard bow range at Honey Island Shooting Range. There are numerous 3D targets and practice targets set up at varied distances. While it is located outside the main fence to the range, it is still part of the range and can only be used during range operating hours which are every Fri, Sat and Sun from 9a-2p. Cost to use it is same as using the gun range, $9.00 all day(this gets you access to all amenities of the range so bring firearms as well if you'd like to get in some target practice. You need to check in at the Range desk just as if you were going to one of the firearm ranges.
Unlike the firearm ranges, we do not "man" the bow range. If you shoot at the bow range you will "self police". It's very unlikely that you'll have other shooters but should another shooter come, you should both practice safety and only go downrange to retrieve arrows once you both are ready.
The only tips allowed are field tipped arrows.
One last thing, just like any WMA in the state you will need a WMA Access Permit. Can be bought at any place you buy hunting or fishing licenses or online at: LINK
Fast forward to 39 seconds in this video for a quick drone footage video of the archery area.
