Yes. 4 of us went down and spent around $10,000 on shells in 2 1/2 days on doves. $10 per box when we went.

So y'all shot 1,000 boxes of shells? Each 250 boxes? Shat!!

In 2 1/2 days we shot over over 14,000 doves. One afternoon we blew it out. Each of us had 2 guns and 2 guys that did nothing but load. As fast I could shoot I was handed another loaded gun. Barrels were so hot your skin would blister if you made contact with barrel. Wore a leather work glove on my left hand so I couldn't touch the barrel even by accident. When we arrived in the fields in the morning each shooting spot was set up with about 30 cases of shells and they would have more dropped as needed. Then we would move to another area 5 - 20 minutes away, have a nice lunch outside and go back out in the afternoon to a new setup. Not going to lie, nothing was as fun as the first afternoon and nothing was as miserable as the last day.

FYI... The lodge we used had nothing but Beretta semi-auto 20ga. They said they repair the guns as much as needed but they are worn completely out and not repairable after 5-6 months.

Here is a summary:

1. Transportation was a joke. I’m talking 12 people crammed in a bus with minimum AC.
2. Guns atruggled and were constantly changed out.
3. $14/box
4. 2 beers per person in field for after hunt with no exceptions.
5. If you only shoot 15 boxes a hunt and some other guy in party shoots 50 then you just sit there with your finger up your arse and wait. With 2 beer limit.
6. I hope you enjoy chicken and pork.
7. No girls allowed at lodge so I hope everyone is married and not interested in fun.
8. Accommodations very meh.
9. Not overly accommodating, hence the dick comment.

We left a night early and stayed in Cordoba. We couldn’t wait to leave, and will never go back with this lodge. Overall just very meh for price. There were other folks in the lodge that had hunted all over Argentina that said it was a shite hole. Having said all that, the hunting was top notch. Good luck.

We went about 8 years ago and they were $10 back then. $14 a box is probably right nowadays. Not only are they pretty expensive but they aren't brand name shells. They are locally produced and they are cheap and very dirty burning shells. I wouldn't recommend bringing your own gun at all.

I think it can be very hit or miss. Heard some bad stories.

Full disclosure here.. The trip we went on was bought through a CCA Houston auction. The executive director of CCA Houston, Robby Byers, was in our group of four that went down. I'm sure the lodge owner went out of his way to make sure our group had a good time. We were the only 4 at the lodge the entire time.

Had a friend who did it. Said they keep handing you a loaded gun and you hand off the empty one in an assembly line fashion so it’s constant shooting. He said it felt like killing instead of hunting.

Yeah I dont get the fun in doing that shite. Im definitely not one to preach to people over what is right or wrong but I just dont see the fun in going slaughter an excessive shitload of birds just to do it.

The frick? I mean “dove hunt in Argentina” is supposed to be a code you tell your wives/gfs anyway. I bet these dudes get no business.

You’re supposed to be banging first class whores for a few days and taking a break from that to shoot guns for a bit.

Nah, don’t worry. We had a blast.

Can’t compare it to anything else because it’s the only place I’ve gone. Buy some booze at the airport for the gazebo in the evenings.

We thought food was good. Mostly beef. We asked them to cook doves, so they did doves one night and dove appetizers every day. I’m
not saying it was 5 Star service but we didn’t need a whole lot.

I was one of those who couldn’t see the appeal of shooting doves in those numbers, but I went to have the ‘once in a lifetime ‘ experience. It was way more fun that I thought. After 5 days I’d have done 5 more.

Just go, take it for what it is, and you’ll have fun

Oh, and Get this

I’ve been wanting to do one of these trips for a long time. This thread has changed a lot of that.
