Be careful on the water!

Spent the evening on the water with some friends for Memorial Day. Planned on doing some fishing but it was so hot i cut my fishing short and decided to ride around with some friends. We went to a rope swing and I had a bad landing off the rope and hit the left side of my head on the water. Ended up rupturing my ear drum. I’ve broken both arms, and rupturing my ear drum hurt 10x worse. Just saying be careful and watch the kiddos coming off rope swings. I don’t wish this on anyone.

Gosh dang. Can that be fixed?
Whenever I'm trying to keep up with my nephews doing stuff like that I'm always thinking of this.

I was driving a boat on Red River when my cousin and two buddies on shore fired a water balloon off a slingshot that went 80 yards and hit my exactly in the earhole, blowing out the eardrum and a lot of the sinus cavity behind the face. The pressure was off the charts. Almost knocked me cold.
Being young, drunk, and stupid, I didn't want to stop the 4th of July celebrations by going to the hospital and had dealt with water in my ears before by drying it out with alcohol. If you think a broken eardrum hurts, you really should wash it in rubbing alcohol for perspective because you will want to die. And when you go to the emergency room after that, the nurses will laugh their asses off.
Five surgeries to close that eardrum later I'm now deaf in that ear.

There was a nurse friend in our group that recommended swimmers ear drops which is 95% alcohol. I agree, I wanted to die. 12/10 on the pain scale. I probably wouldn’t have ended up in the hospital if it weren’t for those drops lol

That was my reasoning too. If I ever need to torture somebody I know the easiest way to do it now. It's like driving a white hot poker into your head and keeping it there.
