I have a Super Black Eagle original that's about 17 years old and has never failed. I've shot 3.5s at geese in the morning and short brass #8s at rice birds in the evenings without a problem. Easy to disassemble and clean. Some people prefer Berettas, to each his own.

I have a Super Black Eagle and an Extrema as a backup. You can not go wrong with either.

My uncle has a 3 yr old SBE II that has a firing pin issues – has had it to gunsmith who said it was a cleaning issue (BS) – he cleaned it and still has issues. So it likely need to go visit Benelli for a fix. That said it is the only Benelli I have heard of w/ an issue. IMO unless you are going to shoot 3.5” shells (I gave up on them) go w/ a 3” gun. I have a berretta 3” extrema (optima) and bought it after talking to serious skeet/trap shooters – it was the only auto I saw around ranges. To date mine has worked fine – I hunt in a clean area – little mud/grime so no comment there. Find a gun that fits you best and go w/ it either wop B gun is a good choice w browning in 3rd place as far as autos go. Only time my berretta hiccup was after my dog dripped water on the action when it was 10 deg and some ice formed in it …. Likely not an issue in S LA
