I’m headed out tomorrow to Eleuthera and then Andros for 2 weeks. These pics are stunning and as fantastic as they are, they can’t tell the “whole” story of how incredible the Bahamas out islands are for enjoying peaceful outdoors.

I’m jealous. I’ve fished Eleuthera. Haven’t fished Andros but it’s on my short list. Hopefully you guys get good weather

Exactly this. Looks like a fantastic trip.

What kind of cost all in per person is it roughly? Is there any expenses out of the ordinary or unexpected is what I mean? I'd love to go down there with the family and fish while they bum around.

How's the fishing in the winter time? That's when they are busiest right?

I’ll chime in here a bit... we rent a nice place in Eleuthera for a week at $1,100 for the week. Another $400 for the rental car.

We spend a few hundred on groceries for the week. Maybe $100 on kalik and other booze. We also go out to eat once or twice, prices similar to the U.S.

We catch our own dinner at least 3 nights. There are limitless opportunities for DIY fishing.

Anyway, do some research on VRBO and some of the Bahamas fishing forums and you can create a budget that give you and your family a budget conscious vacation to remember.

We’ve been taking these trips for 6 years now... sometimes we come twice a year. The people and the raw wildlife/ marine environment keeps bringing us back.

The only negative that I can mention: draft beer, Kalik, is $10 each at the airport bar. I’ve gat a 2 hour layover waiting for me flight to Eleuthera and i might have to sell my youngest kid to pay the bar tab.

That’s about right. I’ve spent anywhere from $750-$1200 without flight. Depends largely on the island and the nature of the trip. We went once with just three guys. Cheap VRBO with electricity, air conditioning, and WiFi. That was our cheapest trip. Some islands take puddle jumper flights to get to, which adds to the cost.

Trips range from 8-10 days.
