Does anyone have any fishing advice for Guntersville in mid May?

Bump this thread a week or so out and I would be glad to help out. If you want to bring some boudin, I may even swap out some grilled steaks...

LOL...someone from N. Bama that knows what boudin is...and knows how to spell it. Wow. I'm impressed. Actually I had boudin for lunch yesterday....We always get 10-15 lbs from Boudin King in Jennings when we go home...

As far as the fishing goes...last time I was on "G" after the bass came off the beds...it was a crapshoot...we fished some wildcats out of Waterfront...and we never did any real good. Couple of 3rds but that's it. When it starts warming up...we were hoping for the early morning top water bite in South Sauty and later fished the grass lines...but that's about all I remember. It's been a while.

Yep, early and late from the end of May until Oct for me. The bream and shellcracker will be beading in May so that will pass time between bass bite.

I'm hoping they will be hitting top water in mid May.

Had an ok tournament on Guntersville this weekend. Finished 5th with 10 @ 30.67 lbs (281 boats).
Stayed in Goose Pond fishing ditches in grass flats between the 1st and 2nd bridge (in goose pond).
Most fish this weekend were on D-Bombs (GP3, and Cali Love),
Day 2 was tougher had 2 fish early but struggled until 11:30. Corey slung a True Bass Swim Bait out there (Green Bean) and the smash fest was on.
Winners stayed on main lake ridges throwing 7" swim bait.
Numbers of fish above main lake bridge pockets north of Scottsborro.

I don't know Guntersville but on Pickwick, people camp on the islands in the river all the time.

Also, depending on when you're going if you can get below the dam and fish there may be some huge stripers. There are at Pickwick and I'd assume they're at Guntersville as well.
