Gotta warn ya, though, if you catch one, they've got a real soft mouth and they're slickey as a squshed banana peeling. Hard to hold on to.

Little rebel minnows fished on small zebco spincast reel or micro spinning reel.
The best lure I like was small Rapala Crankbait. You could cast it far and dived 4 to 6 ft. The rainbow trout would hit it hard.

Buddy of mine fished a river in Colorado this summer. Said there were fly fishermen all around him working there magic with no luck. He strolls down to the bank with his zebco 202, six pack of beer and a pack of heaters. Puts on some kind of jig with some frills on it and commenced to smoke em. Don't know what kind of trout but that story was funny.

They stocked a pond near us last year so loaded up and headed down and caught a few on corn and Berkley power crappie pellets. Did it just to say we caught rainbows in south Louisiana. Probably want ever do it again. Wasn't much of a challenge and probably in the taste neighbor hood of goo fish, choupique, sheep head in terms of quality. Not tasty at all. Would honestly never keep one again. Trash fish category over here

I'm kinda feeling the same way and I live in the mountains. I wouldn't swap one sauger or one walleye for a dozen trout.

I’ll be honest- I have no idea what you’re trying to say here

Colored marshmellows work well, wax worms, powerbait, salmon eggs, dry flies on top the water.

Try #2 Mepps. Cast and reel. If you really want delicious trout, scale, clean, cut off fins and tail then cut them across the backbone into 1" chunks. Leave skin on. Pack into pint jars with 1 teaspoon salt and no water and pressure can 10 pounds pressure for 90 minutes. Eat on a saltine. Its fine.
