The premise of bounce diving is to get in and get out with a max TBT of 8 to 10 minutes.
In my younger days we would burn 6/8 tanks a day bouncing to 200' plus.
Dr Keith Van Meter, who used to run the chamber at Joe Ellen Smith was amazed at some of the profiles that we established.
My deep diving days ended when my son was born.
But yes, if you do it long enough, a life threatening situation will eventually present itself.

are yall using regular compressed air for these deep dives or Nitrox?
Posted on 8/15/11 at 2:29 pm to CarRamrod
Nitrox would definitely not be a good idea that deep.

Very sad situation no matter what the cause of his accident. Morbid as it may be; I think there is a good chance his body can be found with the ROV since he was weighted.

Keith Van Meter -- I think I used to work with that guy years ago at the Primate Center in Covington.

This is just terrible for his friends and family if you are close to them let them know that they are in our thoughts and prayers.

I have been following this thread since the beginning and was hoping for the best each time I opened it. Thoughts and prayers to his friends and family, especially his fiance' and unborn child.

Guys dont get your hopes up yet but I`m listening to the boats searching for BT and a boat has spotted something that may look like an air tank floating. They said it looks like an aluminum pony bottle with a blue cap? anybody know if thats what he used?
