Just read it.

at people that think I carry a pocket knife as a weapon. That has never even crossed my mind until some of those threads started popping up.

Another buck

I have a benchmade that was right under $100

It's nice and it's held up very well, but I'm over the whole nice knife thing. My next one won't cost a penny over $20.

Buck for $40 is what I carry. No clue what its called. As long as it's not flimsy it works for me.

That's the problem with really nice knives. Plenty people won't carry them rendering them useless.

Buck, gerber, kershaw, ect.

I don't like anything that is assisted-opening.

Cheap knives are so much easier to sharpen. I don't find that the expensive steels hold an edge all that much better, and they're a bitch to sharpen.

I've put the benchmade up and went back to an old timer a few times. Bad thing is it doesn't have a locking blade, which scares me.

I beat the ever living shite out of mine.

It still gets dull though, and it's a mother fricker to sharpen.

careful with a locking blade as well. I was carving in the side of a tree with my buck folding ranger one while hunting. I was holding the knife backwards and scraping down the tree. My thumb must have hit the release and I slammed the knife shut between the tree and my hand. My finger at the base caught it good. I was bleeding pretty good. I had to take off my shirt and wrap my finger. I had a good blood trail going before I decided to wrap it.
