When you say duck hunting pants, are you asking about under wader pants? If so the Sitka gradient pants may be the best piece they make.

As to those asking about the value of premium brand hunting clothes, it largely depends on how much you hunt and conditions. Sitting in a heated box blind or only hunting decent weather and you will see little ROI.

I hunt/guide ducks 30+days a season in temps ranging from the 70s down to sub freezing. Bluebird skies and sideways rain. On the terrible days the premium stuff really distances itself from the other stuff.

Yep, I hunt Missouri and I got the Fanatic Bibs and jacket a couple years ago (40% off) and its amazing. I don't duck hunt any longer but I deer hunt off the rivers . Pre Dawn boat rides in teen temps are no issue. $$ well spent IMO

lol, you only wish. I’m in the woods over 200 days a year. Mostly working on our property but hunting during October through January.

When I said that I was being a smart tail, didn’t mean anything by it I promise

Need a new outer shell and can’t decide between the kuiu and the Sitka. I dgaf about mixed patterns.

I have been back and forth and can’t pull the trigger. Wish there was a local retailer with kuiu.

For what it's worth, I don't think it really matters. I hunt in jeans and a $45 Drake jacket I got at an end of year sale. Some of the stuff I wear is thrifted. Get something comfy, warm, and waterproof. If you want to burn some cash to get something great, get Sitka.

For a single layer true rain jacket I love the KUIU
Chugach

LINK

For a little thicker, better pockets, etc. The Sitka Delta wading jacket

They both go on sale around the holidays or find a buddy with the sitka codes

For a hardcore shell look at the Sitka Hudson. I personally hate the damn thing most of the time and prefer something that moves a bit better. Most of the time it hangs in my shop untouched. But tomorrow morning when guiding an oversized group that will have me sitting in the dog box of my pit, 10-15 mph wind and an inch of rain over 6 hours, I promise I'll leave the house without my gun before I leave without the hudson.

I remember when neoprene waders first came out…they were only stocking foot back then so we would cut off the feet and glue on a pair of rubber boots LOL

anyway, even if we weren’t getting in the water, waders went on if it was cold and rainy. It was and still is the best way to stay warm and dry. two part rain jacket over that and a wool cap

That little bit of insulation in that thing is just so damn hot when you're walking back from the bike or messing with decoys. I usually end up wishing i just had a shell and could remove base layers.

It is awesome when its cold cold though

Kuiu definitely fits a little tighter, so if you are a heavy baw order up. If in shape it will fit perfect and be comfy.

This. Something about the same brand/pattern head to toe always screams "gift card from mom and dad" to me.

jacket with the high chest pockets. I’ll probably have mine on tomorrow while deer hunting in my saddle.

Looking at getting a saddle and hadn't thought about the high pocket thing-- smart!

Apparently Sitka doesn't agree enough to make a whitetail jacket with the same pockets. They could market it as a saddle hunting jacket and they would surely sell. I emailed them about it last year and they said no, but in a professional way lol

For sure. I had one laugh at my solid brown pants last weekend, so I shot her.
