Jeff Davis, Brewster, Terrell and South Pecos Counties. Some in northern Presidio. I live just outside of Alpine in Brewster county. I see elk and pronghorn between here and Fort Davis most often. Now the mule deer. Damn, there are so many of them. I see them daily. They walk through town and have no fear of people. My buddy has 1100 acres, if I want some meat it is real easy. Not even hunting, just drive the ranch, see one, shoot it, done.

I 100% agree but you need something to make sausage out of!

My family destroys the axis meat. Red deer is also fantastic. After shooting a stag last year, my wife told me to make sure I shoot a red deer hind this year.

I always wondered if the exotics are as plentiful as advertised. I’d love to get an Axis out there. Gonna be a bucket list item for sure I’d like to make a week or two trip out there and hunt exotics and deer

I hunt Terrell county every December. Plenty of elk. I have had cows and yearlings under my stand but never a big bull. Some buddies I hunt with have killed there.
