Going to Sears in Pasadena, TX in the 70s got a bag of cherry sours.
Everything is good here. Please reference your info. Seeing a vehicle? Murders?
Not sure what you are referring to. This place is safe. Trust me, there are
no suspicious vehicles that don’t get pulled over. Unsolved murders? I always like talking about this stuff from non locals.
I live in Alpine and spend a good amount of time in the park and South Brewster County. Illegal immigration is not near as bad here than other areas. There is no need for a wall. Give Border Patrol the resources they need. Take a look at Terrell County Sheriff Thadeus Cleveland FB page he discusses illegal immigration and shows arrests.
Just call your provider. It is an insurance policy you pay for. The will contact the doctor with your authorization. Real easy. I did it twice with surgery.

The contract has not been awarded. The May 2026 date will be pushed back again. I heard they were having problems getting bidders due to the logistics of the project. One major problem is labor and lodging.

The restaurant and lodge will not be renovated when they are there. The closing dates keep getting pushed back. The restaurant is closed and the lodge is open but having water problems due to broken pumps. The basin is open. I hear that they are having a hard time getting bids due to the logistics of the remote access.

On mine, you pull the face strait off and the batteries go in it.

Do they have batteries in them? I had to replace mine last night.
Not named after a Texas Ranger. Originally named Murphyville changed to Alpine. The Texas Ranger you are thinking of is Joaquin Jackson who lived here.
The Guadalupe Mountains are not near Alpine. That’s Dell City towards El Paso.
I’m somewhat familiar with it. I live in Alpine.
I live in Alpine TX. My sister lives in Ruidosa TX.

Jeff Davis, Brewster, Terrell and South Pecos Counties. Some in northern Presidio. I live just outside of Alpine in Brewster county. I see elk and pronghorn between here and Fort Davis most often. Now the mule deer. Damn, there are so many of them. I see them daily. They walk through town and have no fear of people. My buddy has 1100 acres, if I want some meat it is real easy. Not even hunting, just drive the ranch, see one, shoot it, done.

Check out High West Outfitters. Southwest Texas, My choice would be Brewster, Jeff Davis or Presidio Counties. Rugged terrain and beautiful. Take a Mule Deer off a Mountain.

re: Big Bend Spring Break

There will be a long wait to enter the park during spring break. Also parking at the trail heads is limited. Get there early or you may not find a spot. If you stay in Alpine you can take the short hike up Hancock Hill and visit the Museum of Big Bend at Sul Ross. For lodging check out Chola Ranch Camp in Alpine.
