Without this,

quote:

Idk how long this dog has been out fending for itself? We have had packs of wild dogs running around before that eventually met their fate.

This,

quote:

I spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours a year to get that one chance at the buck(s) I have been working for. Dues, licenses, trimming, planting, scouting. I'll be damned if an uncollared dog comes running through my place pushing deer out of their areas and potentially onto other properties.
Makes you a shitty human being. IMHO.

wait a minute, so you bitch about a dog possibly running your precious deer out of your food plot, but you are willing to blast a pack of wild dogs? Your deer deaf bro?

eta: ladies and gentleman, we have now learned that a dog walking around in the woods is more detrimental to a herd of deer than sending multiple rifle shots down range at a pack of dogs. Makes sense why most of you don't shoot a thing.

I know we have some knuckle draggers that post here, but there are some posters in this thread that I thought were fairly intelligent. Not so much anymore

deer do not associate gun shots with danger

I have a video of me shooting a buck and then have 4 deer come out in the similar location.

I don't have a dog in this hunt (pun intended) but dogs definitely have a bigger impact on deer than gun shots do. Seen plenty of deer come back out after a shot is fired, even with a dead deer laying in the field. Never, ever, seen a deer come back after being run off by a dog.

this is just one of those arguments that could be argued until the end of time. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I shot at a big buck a few weeks ago close to dark. I clearly missed him and the 3 does in the food plot just looked at me like I was stupid

I still blame Barf for derailing the thread. So much potential in the FB link.

What about a dead dog laying in the field?

You admitted earlier that you're not a deer hunter. I have no idea why you're being a dick about it to people who have obviously spent more time around deer. It's not different strokes, you're flat out wrong if you think wild dogs won't push deer off a property but gunshots will. An older, mature buck may go nocturnal after being shot at but EVERY deer will see dogs as a predator.

Deer tend to circle. That dog is going to present you with the best shot of your life. These guys should be feeding them treats, not shooting them.

Never shot a dog, so I don't know, but I'd imagine it can't be worse than a live dog in a field, and that's your whole retarded argument.

So by this when we start dog hunting, and hunt a certain area that is divided up into blocks, once we run the dogs through a block we shouldn't do it any more because there won't be any deer...

Hogs and predators will ruin your hunting property and hunts way more than a wandering stray dog that usually isn't even trained to chase deer.

I did, to the best of my knowledge. I've never shot a dog, and I don't plan on it. You're trying to move the goalposts to look like less of a dumbass after being called out, I'm not digging you out of that hole.
