Definitely a rio grande cichlid. I've caught some monsters in city park.

As others have said, it is definitely a Rio Grande Cichlid. There is research that suggests that some of the invasive cichlids can be a bit salt tolerant, and that the exposure to saltier water can even help them survive the colder winters they experience here than in their normal ranges.

Well, it's related to tilapia. So I'd at least give it a try.
