Currently shooting slick tricks as well.

Good results with my small sample size.

Damn man, way off the deep end there eh.

This is a message board but people who know me read this, so I dont post "full of shite stuff."

My brother has shot a big tomahawk looking thing, a thunderhead, a slick trick, and a muzzy without changing anything and has to not shoot the same dots becuase he will robin hood arrows. Watched him do it many times. Have you shot a fixed blade since the aluminum arrow days? I dont know a single person who does anything other than screw them on and shoot them

I have killed with both. It is such a confidence thing. Just go with whichever one you are feeling good with at that time.

Some states require fixed. So check before travelling.

Sounds like a tune issue not a head issue.

This topic always goes this direction.

If it works for you, great. If not, try something else. Some people just refuse to change. Or respect others’ opinions for that matter.

Has never been a tune issue.

What do you think the issue was then?

Inconsistencies in head(ferrule) to insert fitment, and/or insert to shaft fitment. This is why mechs were invented. This is why we see special products for arrow building like insert shavers and arrow spinners.

What that shows has zero to do with it being a mechanical head.

I can’t wait to hear your thought process behind this. The “cutting tip“ or whatever they called it that Rage put on their gen 1 heads was an absolute piece of junk held in by a tiny set screw. It’s a pretty important piece of the head because it’s the first thing that comes into contact with the animal. Now, I know they’ve made some improvements and gotten rid of that design, so good for them. I had a bad experience with it and got rid of mine. No sweat off my back. I’ve yet to see a one piece head fail to that degree. Though I have seen some replaceable blade heads do something similar. Maybe that’s what you’re getting at? If that’s the case, then I suppose my argument has more to do with quality materials. In which case, there isn’t a mech head on the market that impresses me structurally. They’re all thin bladed and disposable. That’s not my gig.

Yeah I didn’t read all of that, but it wouldn’t matter what head I’m screwing on, I am going to insert tune and nock tune every one of them because I can and have the tools to do so. You may have a point for the ones not willing to take that kind of time or spend the money to find someone to do it for them.

I can post a picture of a magnus stinger( fixed blade) that looks like a J . so all broadhead can fail no matter the style..

I’ve had them do this to me as well. They’re kind of like the Vortex of broadheads. “Awesome warranty” and all. Problem is that it’s being used by a lot of people fairly frequently. This is another reason I switched to Cutthroats. One piece head that will not structurally fail on the shot through game. It’s much more likely to be damaged by all the rock we have here in TN after it goes through a target.

Plus they look badass. Confidence right?

Below is a pic of a 150 grain CT that passed thru a 3D target into my fence and then used to shave my super blonde leg hairs. That’s what we like to call “edge retention.” Not only is it sharp when it arrives, but it remains sharp all the way through the animal. Show me a mech that can do that, and I’ll buy 12 of them.

Bam.

Then you haven't looked.

Of course they are disposable. I do not re use blades no matter what style.

I mean if you would just take a little bit of time and explain yourself, we could actually have a conversation.

I have. And I’m not impressed. Obviously, this is objective. What impresses you, may not impress me.

Cool. It sounds like you’ve found a system that works for you. Go get em, sport.
