Yep. The internet mob is largely very vocal about everything yet spends almost no money and moves almost no product in the grand scheme of things.
Gun nerds and diesel truck nerds are the two biggest offenders out there.
Being glock, I'm just surprised that it's a gucci tier rifle. Seems like a very well built and very reliable basic duty rifle would be more on brand for Glock.

Makes sense if you consider they are competing with H&K, DD, LWRC, Geissele, etc. If Glock wants to sell rifles to specialized military and LEA's, they are going to go with a premium product and see if they can convince buyers that their details are better that the others' details.

This is all about glock trying to maximize profits with "glock" agencies. Like sig, once they get their foot in the door with the 9mm hg they can sell rifles to that agency as well.

And they are already on state contract list

Can't blame a company trying to make money where they think they can. If an agency can have a one-stop shop for handguns and rifles, have factory support for their armorers, and get better deals on future trade-ins, they might be very interested in this. This is probably not driven by public demand as much as agencies asking, Glock knows they can sell civilian models to help make up LEA/military sales income.

I dont understand why they dont offer a damned thumb safety.

Upgrayeed is correct. This is the rifle that Glock entered into the UK MoD “Hunter” selection. KAC ended up winning that, it is being distributed through Edgar Brothers in Macclesfield, and the rifle selected is as Gucci as they come. Look it up. FWIW, there were funding issues with the new government since the contract was awarded and I was told last week that less than 1,000 rifles have actually been delivered thus far.
I am guessing Glock sat on their design for two years after not winning the contract and then someone at Glock USA said “let’s sell some of those.”
If you know anything about how Glock as a business runs, I do, you will easily understand why it took two years to make the decision. Nothing happens quickly there.
The poster who said “they probably figure they can sell them to LE agencies who already use their pistols” and pointing out that contracting will be easier is also correct. With many LE agency purchases, ease of contracting and purchasing often trumps quality and price. Civilian bureaucrats care more about getting to lunch on time than taking care of your tax dollars.

I guess the CTR stock was part of the requirements for the UK contract. The G15 has that, too, as well as the KS-1 that won the contract.
I'd suspect the Knights was more accurate and probably a touch lighter with their dimples barrel.
I wonder if the Glock has any type of proprietary gas block or barrel nut stystem like the Kac does.

Yeah, but does it come with the little gadget that makes Glocks shoot a little faster.
Can never remember what they call the damn thing.

What a bizarre video that the guy would wear rubber gloves while handling a modern rifle. It's not like it is some heirloom two hundred year old musket. The thing is built for 18 year olds who have never handled a gun and combat.
Just pick it up.
Just pick it up.

He's a fricking Brit. He probably thinks the gun is going to explode like C4 if he doesn't wear gloves.
I'm actually surprised he's even that close to it. The Limey's are terrified of guns.
