Just got back home from the island. Caught a few trout from the beach yesterday and this morning. Enough to make a meal. Had a porpoise almost run into me he got so close. My brother also caught a big ladyfish, my dad caught a crab, and I caught a turkey neck. I am not kidding.

We had a great trip. All of the kids had a blast. My parents had a great time and loved having all of their grandkids in one place. And I got to go cut up and catch a few with Unc.

My son’s sand castle.

The water was really pretty this morning.

Did a quick mid day trip today and pieces together a box. No limits but all really solid fish.

Looks like I’m going to have to start buying some salt gear. Cause I definitely need to do that more often. By the way, I owe you a leader. Forgot it on my dad’s rod.

That's one of the first ones I ruined about 4 years ago. I still have it, but it sticks about every 5 spins.

I'm usually trashed after every trip but not my reel. I use inexpensive Shimano and get about 4 years of fishing out of them. Probably 15-20 surf fishing trips a season. You holding your reel underwater ?

Falling tide huh? On the beach or behind? Have done decent in the bay on a falling tide, but not the beach, but haven’t logged a lot of time.

Unk and I caught several nice old fashioneds at Hurricane Hole Saturday night. Couldn’t get the crew up early enough to trout fish but caught a few nice Mangroves yesterday when we could get past the 12” red snapper and plethora of endangered sharks. Someone needs to train those SOB’s to eat hardheads and quit cutting my snapper in half.

Fished the beach on friday morn and caight 45 keepers.
Sat morn we finished with 70 keepers
Sun morn we wanted to leave earlier so we finished with 56.
The beaches were getting almost completely fresh by sat/sun. Find the salty water and youll find the fish. The bite usually ended around 9. Never seen so many shrimp getting popped at the top by specks.
