The wife and I are planning to do the same thing. I hope it’s a light wind from whatever direction it decides to come from.

To those with experience, how hard will it be to find clean water and stay out of the wind on a day like tomorrow?

Would be fishing out of a 18’CC aluminum boat with a buddy of mine.

Hard to say what the water clarity will be like, but it will be choppy as hell since according to the forecast is for the wind to consistently be near 15 mph day and night all weekend. You should be able to navigate behind the island, but If the water quality is bad you might be wasting your time.

It’s a relatively short drive to Leeville and protected water is more accessible

Just a thought.

Sounds like a great time but I’ll be working all weekend. Post pics so I can live vicariously through everyone else’s fun.

Still blowing like a bitch. I’m on the deck questioning my life choices of agreeing to go offshore in the am. Pray for me

I’d start dosing with Advil now. Took a leak off porch and got about 15’, to the side. I said frick it, gonna wait for tide to change and head north.

Surfs gonna be rough all week it looks like. I’ll be there the following weekend so hopefully it’s quiet by then.

We will be getting in from our overnight tuna trip on Sunday AM at Bridgeside. If you're still around I'll drop off some tuna steaks.

I survived. Was blowing like a cheap hooker this morning. 6 decent trout was all we caught. Boat out of the water by 10.

Going chase green trout tomorrow.
