Has anyone used the new LSU Ag soil kits?

Does the soil go directly in this paper bag and then I get my own box? Seems like they wanted plastic in the past. I liked how they had it before with the box included.

UGA Extension Agency bags are identical to that

Yes

Box sample bag(s) and insert the form and payment in the box, but not in the sample bag(s). Mail the box to the lab.

Waters Ag Lab in GA and Auburn bags are similar. What I’ve always done is to get a baseball size lump of dirt from about 3-4 places around the plot. Dump them in a 5 gal bucket the shake it around vigorously. Then pour one bag mostly full from the mixture. This helps to spread out the sample from multiple places in the plot and avoid getting the entire sample from somewhere that might have had a large amount of fertilizer or lime left there from the year before which might skew the results.
