A shotgun spread inside of a house is smaller than your fist. Not very forgiving at all. Plus, most only hold 8 rounds where almost every AR holds 30.

No kids.

But Ill play, You gonna load up that 12 gauge with bird shot for intruders? #2 or 00 will go through a wall just as easily as my 300BLK BTs.

Realistically, 8 rounds vs 30. I disagree 100%.

So you use a single shot shotgun for HD? Why limit yourself? Let me guess, you want my 30 round mags too?

How many rounds is the perfect amount for you? How many is too little? How many are too many?

I keep my unplugged 20ga with #6 shot and my .40 with 30rds total between two mags by my bed.

If you're going to play, play by the rules. Option A was a 12 gauge with a 30 round mag. You disagree 100% that a 30 round drum mag of #2 is more forgiving than a 30 round mag of 5.56? You serious Clark?

AR.

Plenty of firepower and the least likely to punch through walls.

Trained law enforcement fired several hundred yesterday, and they now say he had one self inflicted wound. Very few people take the time to aim properly under fire, unless they're trained to do so, and even then.. not all the time.

If I got 30 shotgun rounds I'm going with that no question.

If there's no light I'm going to have to be able to see. I'm not gonna just be shooting wildly. Do all guns have lights mounted? Have to take that into consideration.

If there's not enough light to make out a man-size target, then there's not enough light to shoot a shotgun.

Also, I think the 30 round shotgun thing was a typo, but if not, that would be a pretty heavy shotgun, no?

AR, Preferably an AR SBR'ed with a suppressor.

Short easily maneuverable weapon with center of mass at a good point near the body.

Quiet

5.56 will penetrate fewer layers of drywall then 9mm thus limiting the potential for collateral damage due to inevitable misses.

Under stress the manipulation of the AR platform is very easy and utilizes fewer fine motor skills than the pump action shotgun. Short stroking a pump shotgun may be easy do when under stress.

Contrary to popular belief the spread of the shotgun is not 5' in diameter at close ranges. Yes, you have to aim.

Large magazine capacity to engage multiple targets that may be present. Home invasions have seen as many as 7 intruders in recent news. 8 rounds in the shotgun seems light now doesn't it?

Almost zero felt recoil using an AR allowing for faster follow up shots.

Infinite configurations to allow the user to customize the most maneuverable , lightweight defensive firearm per the users physical size, strength, skill, etc.

On phone, will edit with more later.

Full size Semiautomatic pistol lets just say a 10-14 round pistol, you possibly have extra clip with gun.
