Same stuff is $6.50 bag at Tractor Supply - if you need lime and can't get an ag lime spreader to your plots (or don't have access to a co-op) this is a great deal!

it takes 1.2 tons of agricultural lime per acre to raise the pH of a loam soil by one point. It is half that for sandy soil and almost double for clay soil.

that makes sense, and this deal puts lime @$200/ton, much cheaper and easier to do with ag lime but in small hard to get to areas bagged, lime is a viable option

Most don’t have an acre food plot. Almost all of mine or 1/4-1/2 acre in size. The bags work just fine out of a spreader on a side x side or 4 wheeler.

Sound like he better get some day workers from the parking lot to help him load sacks 40 lbs at a time

Get em to load a pallet for you is easiest.
I got two pallets a few years back ans spread this way. It is effective.

Agricultural lime and pellitized dolomitic lime are not applied at similar rates. For example, if soil test results call for 2 tons per acre of ag lime (or 4000lbs) you would apply around 400lbs/acre of pellitized lime. The Home depot deal is really good. I have purchased over 600 bags this year to spread on a new farm I purchased. If you purchase over 70 bags the price drops to 3.50 for 40lbs. I have them deliver pallets to the farm gate for 75.00. Spread with my old 30 hp woods tractor and spreader.
Cost per acre to lime the pastures was minimal. I will let you know how the soil test looks next spring.
Important to note that pellitized lime works faster but also doesn't last as long as agricultural lime. So more applications will be necesary.
