One of my favorite guns is my Winchester 9422M .22 mag. My dad gave it to me for my 16th birthday. I have a Leupold 6x compact on it. They are pretty rare. It’s a tac driver. I used to carry around as a truck gun in high school. I may have killed a few skillet heads with it back in the day with some head shots.

I have one. I could have sworn my dad told me it was my grandpa's. I need to get the S/N and look up to see when it was made.

I could load them if I truly wanted but I’m not concerned about .357 subs,

The main attraction of a .357 carbine for me is the increased velocity. They start approaching 30-30 territory with the right loads.

is there a downside to running 38spcl rounds in a 357 magnum rifle?

Is feeding a potential issue?

According to their manual, it handles 38spc just fine. I wondered the same thing about the feed.

6 reviews of 27 says this particular one is a pile of shite. I'd be leery

This one is better but I'd research different sites for reviews about the particular one you're looking for. I'm not going to shite on all Turkish firearms, as I have a few Tisas pistols, but just do your research

I'm leaning toward the GFLVR44SS
UPC: 643477865910

or the GFLVR357SS
UPC: 643477865507

Yeah, seems like that tactical version sucks.

Think the .22lr and .22 mags were made starting around 1973 and stopped around 90-91. Winchester made around 500 17 HMR models. They can go for as much as $3K.

The first ones flat sold out everywhere, literally.

Second one can be had for roughly $550 after shipping, taxes and all

But I would wait for the first UPC to come back in stock. This two tone whatever in the frick it is, is

Had this same question when i got my Big Boy years ago, i had read something along these lines. It leaves a carbon ring in the empty part of the chamber, since it is shorter than the 357. If this builds up enough, when you try and shoot 357 bad things can happen supposedly (rounds can get stuck, or not seat all the way at all. Chamber pressures I would imagine are much higher than intended as well). It is recommended to thoroughly clean the chamber after running 38spl if you intend to also shoot 357.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of two tone.

I'm not against them, but what is the attraction for buying a lever action rifle when semiautomatic and bolt action rifles dominate the market?

Someone's inner 1800's persona coming out? Cool and unique ammunition to purchase? The beauty of the rifle(s)?

1. Some people like to collect guns of different varieties.
2. They’re fun to shoot.

All of the above. Kind of like buying a 1911.

They are also very versatile rifles. They are small and light.
