Late to the party but my 9 year old got us on the board this morning with a great shot on a nice doe.

San Saba county
70ish degrees and cloudy
REM model 7 in .260
100gr nosler BT over blue dot at about 2240fps.

Doe and yearling to the west. Nice horns crossing pasture to a dry branch. 300 yards or so. I have a new ladder that I have to put together and place it within range there. Climbing down now! Till tomorrow evening!

Same here this morning.

Hunted Black Bayou NWR since it was rifle weekend at D’Arbonne NWR. Didn’t see anything and no one else was around so I scouted a bit. I jumped a nice 8-point but no chance at a shot. Found a couple spots that I might try tomorrow.
