I have 2 Summits and then I have 3 Hawk Helium sticks with a lock on that I also use. I primarily hunt from one of these options or 2 permanent lock-on's that I have up.

I started 2 years ago with the climber and have seen so many more deer being in the woods. I'm sure I'll eventually get into trying a saddle.

How high can you get with 2 sticks? In some spots I get about 30 feet. Others right above 20.

I’m thinking I’ll have to go back to a climber.I hate it in a way,I did it until I was 65 but got ruined by box stands.Nice to be able to move around at will, something to block the N wind.

Wife told me I’m crazy,I’m 74 but I can still do it.Got out the Ol Man and climbed 30 feet up an Oak tree trimming limbs last week.

It’s a tree on a crossing on a highline 340 yds from my box.I’ve seen several bucks crossing there but I don’t have confidence shooting that far, plus they’re always moving.
I can only hunt it with a S-SE wind which beats the hell out of a N wind.

I have 2 step aiders on all of my sticks, so 2 sticks with aiders gets me to about 12ft to my platform. If I really stretch out between all 4 of my sticks and set my platform high, I can max out my 30ft bow rope tied to my saddle. So that’s probably 26-27ft to my platform

Back at it this afternoon.

Lincoln Parish
60° slight south wind
In the stand I got a pic of the 8 point chasing a doe this morning. REB JR on the pipeline in the stand I normally hunt. 6 pack of Natural Light and a can of Zyn listening to cars pass on I-20. Oh, and a flying squirrel sharing the stand with me.

Back at it
Area 4 box stand on a plot with a feeder.
Tikka 308 and one miller lite
I really hate hunting boxes and plots but tons of does and several bucks the last few days makes me do the hard things.

Man I’m jealous! The bad part about walking miles back on public and staying all day, is if you don’t bring it in the morning, there’s no quick ride to the truck or camp to get it. And I’m not lugging my ice chest back here

Area 2
28 nos
Got down around 10:30, did some scouting until about 2:00, then caught me an hour nap at the base of a tree. I found a big, pretty open bottom with the ridges on both sides being lined with nasty thick briars. Tons of crossings in here, and a fresh scrape about 20 yards away.

Just saw a first for me. Had an almost all white Cat Squirrel come out and eat corn. Not an albino, but his body is almost all white with the exception of his tail and a stripe down his back.

I texted my son and told him you’re not gonna believe me and told him about it and he said he saw it yesterday.
