Found this photo someone posted on Nextdoor and thought it was pretty awesome.

Caption that accompanies he photo.

“Louisiana Christmas Tree”
Lake Martin, Louisiana

“It’s time to deck the halls and adorn this little cypress tree for Christmas.

I had paddled past this small cypress tree for well over a decade, and had always wanted to capture a photo of it because it reminded me of a Christmas tree. Unfortunately conditions never really presented themselves in a way where I thought it was worth capturing. Finally, after all those years, the light, fog, and wind cooperated. I hope you like it, and Merry Christmas y’all!”
Ben Pierce

A little Louisiana Christmas!

Ben Pierce gonna see this and be pissed.

This is a joke. There was some piece of shite that claimed a picture posted online of his was copyrighted and posting was violating his copyright.

He was a shithead and a dumbass.

Understatement of the year.

Toward the end I was just making memes only using his pictures to refer to him as such.

That picture is still one of my desktop backgrounds at work.

That’s pretty cool. Why did they close the road around lake Martin?

Why did they close the road around lake Martin?
We had a bunch of rain in May 2021 and the road stayed underwater for two weeks. When it receded, the road became nearly impassable except for 4 wheel drive vehicles. The parish came in and attempted to fix it and promptly got excavators and dozers stuck, further damaging the road bed. They then decided to block it off indefinitely with no timetable for repair and reopening.
