I just don't like only having a trigger safety. I'm not all that familiar with all pistols yet, but if something happen to get in there and engage the trigger It goes boom .

Dead Serious. Why are you worried about others around you and how does that involve a safety trigger assuming pistol owner "knows how to safely handle the gun"?

You don't have to have a bullet chambered in any case. I'm still looking for an answer about worries for others.

my 2 cent guess is that a safety leads to more accidents if people get confused if it's on or not and whatever else. Gun is always loaded, treat it so. End of story.

Found the thread of the dude shooting himself in the leg.
LINK

I've also heard of police officers accidentally discharging their weapon while chasing after a perp. Extra safety = less chance of someone accidentally getting shot.

SO many things wrong with this and all have nothing to do with involving a safety trigger or not.

I agree with you, but I can't make other people act the same way. I would expect a friend or family member to follow that rule if they handle my gun but I can't 100% guarantee they will. The safety is one more step to protecting myself/others.

The others have the gun in their hands.

Then you shouldn't let them handle your gun. Your fault. Period. Goes back to gun safety 101.

The most ignorant thing you've posted. That's saying quite a lot

For the record I do treat every gun as if it's loaded, even if I know that I unloaded it ten minutes earlier. I clear it everytime I handle a weapon.

no its not. If you are relying a safety trigger for safety of yourself or others, you need the help, not I.

I disagree. If you feel that way, please go ahead and remove the safeties from all your long guns.

Its not about being against them but i never depend on a safety like you obviously do for safety.
