How did the flooding last year affect the deer population ?

We are not seeing good numbers and seeing some rack bucks that you can tell were stressed over spring/summer.

I grew up hunting a place on the River that would start getting water at 28 and would be covered at 35. (Vicksburg). We went for years and years without even getting to 28 all the way through January.
This. It would happen occasionally, but you could usually get a full hunting season at least 8 out of 10 years and on those two years you’d at least get to New Years or halfway through January.
Hell they would farm cotton and soybeans on a relatively wide scale on some of these islands that have barely been accessible the last few years.
