Sharks don't hone in on a blOod scent right away. They have to smell it then they swim in zig zags for hours losing and reaquiring the scent. Plus they're too scared of the sound of the bubbles to come close anyway.

Cobia will be migrating through in about a month. You can find schools of 20+ hanging around the bottom, we can pretty much get a limit every time.

Does anyone know if they're opening red snapper next month?

I had some inside word from people involve with the gulf council that it should be open in October last year. Recreational anglers didn't meet the quota. But they'll probably wait until 7 days before opening it to announce. I'll check with my sources to see if it's still on.

If they open it back up I know my first rig stop... Did a lemon drop on a single leg rig and found some massive red snapper. Took all my will power to concentrate on looking for the cobia through all of them haha

Great video, thanks. I've seen it from the top side but had no idea what it looked like under the rigs. Damn, I wish I'd gotten into that when I lived in Louisiana.

Here's some more pictures. These turned out a little cooler because I actually got the point of impact. Keep in mind I filmed at 60 frames per second and the spear was in my gun in one frame and out the back of his head in the next one, then the fish was around the backside of the pipe about .05 seconds later.
