Had found two separate instances of broadheads in bodys and the deer looked to be perfectly fine one was at least a year or two old wound and the other looked like possibly that same season. Both heads were wrapped in scar tissue and looking at the shot location the person who released the arrow would have just known they were dead deer , missed vitals by 2-3ins
Guy shot a huge deer close to my house a few years ago and when they cleaned the deer it had an arrow under the skin. Whoever shot that arrow probably has nightmares over that shot and losing this deer.

There’s an amazing side-story to the Jarrett buck. The 22-point had previously been shot with an arrow from a crossbow. This photo is staged to show where the crossbow entered — the arrow was hidden under the hide. The arrow apparently just missed entering the chest cavity, and the broadhead tip was sticking out of the front of the buck’s chest.

Yup. That happens more than people thing. Unless they get lucky and hit a big artery those deer usually survive.
