You two,

Don't know who the black guy is but your Screename gives me a good enough picture. A guy who scuba dives can't be too bad.

And DR - I love family guy. Both in the clear in my book

No worries, just adding in.

I doo the same with avatars, but I find myself also associating certain posters with specific sig pics so when multiple people change theirs to the same thing it gets confusing.

Scubba, I always p[ictured you as black.

PrettyBird, I assumed (sadly incorrectly) that was you. Is your screen name a previous IRL nickname for you?

They grow off at an insane rate. Got my little cousin hooked on fishing this way... Just some bread and a Zebco. Pretty good eating, too. Just not my favorite.

Gonzales area. We each have 30 acres so we are looking to dig a 5 acre pond. This will still leave the kids some play area and building room.

She is just someone I hold as a role model for my fitness (not her personal lifestyle, as the guys on the OT will say she used to do porn but I had no idea)

It's a Dumb and Dumber reference, my favorite movie. I don't really live in Aspen either

It takes a really long time with a shovel.

I just mean like how long does it take those machines to dig, what do you do with the dirt? Sell it? Haul it off? How do you get the water in there, from where do you pull it from? It's just interesting to me.

We dug our pond and used the dirt for a turtle back for our house and the rest was used to make a slightly elevated road through the woods.

water will find its way from the natural watertable and rain water

ETA: this is for flat land in close to the swamp. SCUBA's is for the hill country

If the shoe fits...

PB, typically you will start where there is some kind of depression that would somewhat hold water normally. It's especially beneficial if you have a creek that runs. They dig. With machinery. Build up a dam portion on the opposite side of the creek, if there is one. Some people lay down a plastic tarp then cover it up with packed dirt, so it's almost guaranteed to hold water and you won't lose it out of the bottom of the pond. Then... you wait for it to fill up, which could take years.

That's in layman's terms. There's quite a bit more to it than that though.
