KAC's bolt and extension are designed a little different from mil spec.

I know, but how many times have you seen a mil-spec MPI bolt fail? I spent a lot of years as an 11B and never saw it, and our weapons were always a mix of new and shot-out crap.

I'm just commenting, not ragging on anybody's choices. I spend more on fishing reels than I need to, others spend more on ARs than they need to. KACs are very nice in fit & finish.

What was the most common failure you saw? Were y'all using Colt or FN M4s or something else? Always curious to talk to folks who saw the platform under heavy duty use.

Not him, not an 11B.

Most of the issues I saw were magazine related.

Usually Colt, and if by failure you mean malfunction it was usually sand or magazines. They're a lot more capable of firing when dirty than the popular wisdom thinks, but if you get enough coarse sand in there it'll jam up any weapon.

If by failure you mean catastrophic failure of a bolt or something I couldn't tell you. I've heard of it happening but never seen it personally. Honestly you'd get better information by asking one of the Vegas gun ranges. They fire way more ammo through those than a Joe spending a year in the sandbox.

I've never and probably will never see a bolt fail. I'd never buy one myself but I can see the draw of a very nice, soft and accurate shooting rifle that's good to go out of the box.

Anyone ever heard of Emtan? I think they're Israeli but I don't know anything about them.

Buddy of mine has a brand new BCG of theirs that he said he's willing to part with for pretty cheap.

Started ordering some parts for my .308 build in anticipation of my builders kit hopefully coming in soon.

Ordered a Wilson Combat 18” tactical hunter fluted barrel and a SLR/Wilson adjustable gas block. Need to see when Wilson will have their BCGs back in stock now

I have a Wilson barrel in a MK12 clone in .224 Valkyrie. I have been very pleased with it. Shoots like a laser.

Yeah I’ve only heard good things. Excited to try it out.

Ordered a Wilson BCG last night. It’s currently back ordered but talking to them yesterday they’re hopeful it’ll fill by end of year.

Does anyone know if Faxon will ever have any pencil barrels available or is Brownell's/KE Arms just buying them all as soon as they come off the lathe?

Yeah they finally got some stock for the AR-10 BCG. My 18" .308 barrel came in last week and the quality seems awesome.

Thinking I'll pick up a 16" 5.56 and BCG while everything is on sale.
