So, Who knows about headspacing?
Bolt has about 300-400 rds on it.
Just found these markings on the underside of some of the lugs.

If it is a headspacing issue, is there any way to fix this?
New bolt and barrel.

Asked my buddy to send me a photo of his bolt (same kind of SRC Relia-Bolt bought around the same time) and his was showing the exact same markings on the exact same lugs.
It's either a major flaw in their design or it's just an incredible coincidence.
Also a different barrel brand altogether.

Runs flawlesly.
Gassing is great and the brass ejection is perfect and there are no high pressure signs or anything like that on the casings.

Then what are you trying to fix? There's metal-to-metal contact all throughout the action. The parkerizing (or whatever finish it is) will get rubbed off on those contact surfaces.

Don't think the contact will shorten the life of the lugs?

All bolts make contact with the lugs inside the barrel extension. Absent a perfectly machined barrel/bolt combination, one or two are going to make contact before the others. It's a mil-spec designed to be affordable to mass produce, and that means tolerance stacking. It's why sometimes two random upper and lower receivers have a tight fit, sometimes it's loose. Some AR bolts rotate home with little effort, some need a nudge. It's the entire reason the forward assist exists.
I no longer shoot enough rounds to wear out bolts, but bolts are wear items, as are barrels. Absent a freak failure (they do occasionally happen) you'd probably need to shoot at least $5k worth of ammo before you're concerned about bolt wear, at which point the price of a new bolt is pretty trivial.

An update to my “duty rifle on a budget” project. I replaced the basic Aero gen II lower build with a loaded out PSA Sabre lower for cheaper. Summary:
- PSA Sabre lower: $270 (Hiperfire trigger, B5 Bravo furniture, Radian Talon 45/90 ambi safety, Sprinco white spring, anti-walk pins)
- PSA 14.7” FN chrome lined CHF barreled upper with 13.5” handguard (partial pic rail version): $350
- PSA premium BCG: $70
- Primary Arms 3x Gen III prism: $250
- Total rifle and optic: $940
PSA is absolutely killing it.

quote:I haven't shot it with this lower yet, but it's the same upper I posted a while back that grouped incredibly well with the PMC Bronze 223 I tested it out with, and has been perfect since.
Have you shot it yet?
Basically I just upgraded the lower receiver with furniture, trigger, pivot pins, etc. for less money than I had in the original lower (an Aero with PSA Magpul MOE parts kit).

Fun note Caleb at Brownells used to be a gunsmith at Jim's in BR. Dude was a wizard with fixing guns. He is a pretty badass shooter as well. He has some pretty good YT video's.

i'm pretty sure he mentioned being an armorer in the military as well in one of those Brownell's videos.

Have two extra handguards laying around I’m thinking of parting with if any of you baws are looking. I’ll cut a good deal.

Bought 30 of these a year or two ago after they were posted here. They’re good to go.
got mine in today. these things are pretty stout. and the finish on them appears to be strong as well. can't wait to test them out.
they still have them for $5.86 a piece still.

Anyone know of a place where to buy a suppressor in installments while it’s in jail?
