Crazy ducks this morning. Got my limit and got out of the rice field. They were landing as I was walking out,

yea i was on Goose pond then went over to Redfish pond when it got slow. put my dog to WORK over there. I was invited back this Sunday, but I might go with my BIL to another rice field. I REALLY want to go back though. I got the reinvite last night. I love being in this situation of which rice field to hunt. decisions decisions.

@Bourg
Some rice fields south of Iowa, Cormier Farms. I was lucky enough to be get invited from a friend who was invited out there. Duck hunter heaven to say the least.

I don't understand why the wax wasn't popping like last year... I didnt see any signs of salt water intrusion

i've never been out there, but hopefully that will change this year. the birds may just have been further west. lets hope they show up for big duck season.

The were skirting around really low. After a shot they would make a big circle and come right back. Alot of activity in the area. The must feel that cool weather coming. We me and the dog were walking out on the levee they wouldn't even flare.

much smaller groups than over the weekend, lots of doubles and singles....didn't make much difference with only 2 of us hunting this morning. I was surprised there was just as much shooting around us as sunday.

Just got back from a teal hunt. Bout time I baged a limit. First 5 mins of shooting time and done with only 3 shots.

Stayed out there till 9:30 working birds. Had a blast doing that. At one time, I had well over 100 birds in the decoys.

Greenjeans was out in force and busted two guys over there limits.
