Was considering a DR mower to cut narrow walking trails through short pine and maintaining fire lanes.

Anyone ever use one and can share their opinion? Also wondering about size of motor and width of deck. TIA.

Haven't used their mowers but I have a DR trimmer purchased from Stine's and it has lived up to expectations.

I have a DR power trimmer that I use for paths, fence rows, and light brush clearing. Does fantastic. Also really good for when the grass gets away from you for a few weeks. It will cut thick, tall grass that would stall anything but a bush hog.

I'm going to get a DR walk behind brush cutter for the hunting properties for trails and areas too small for the tractor. My wife bought me an off brand one years ago (DEK). When it works, it's great. But it's been a maintenance nightmare. Looking at DR's Pro Max 34

I previously had a DR pro 44 pull behind. It was a good mower but would not cut tall grass great (it was more of a trimming mower). I just bought a DRPRO MAX 52T pull behind mower. It is built more like a bush hog design and does a great job. I did not want to put money into a tractor and this fit the bill (around 4k ). It has electric start and you can control the height and engauge the blades with out getting off of your vehicle. i did have some issues when it arrived. The complete blade assembly was off of the mower. This had to be left off at the factory and was supposed to be torqued to 100 ft lbs. called them and they sent the missing bolts. Only used it twice but i am happy with it.

One recommendation: Get a DR with a Briggs engine. I think their default engine is some kind of off-brand Kohler, and it's not bad. But depending on where you live, it's much easier to get a Briggs engine serviced almost anywhere. Parts are readily available most everywhere, too.

On their website the B&S engine is the only one listed, but I'll keep an eye out. Tks

I have a swisher 44” rough cut pull behind. I might be willing to part with it. It has new belts and runs like a top. It has an 11.5 HP Briggs.

It’s a beast. I used it mainly to cut my lake levee twice a year. It’s crazy how expensive they are now. New one like mine is 3K.
