My 10 year old son and I have been out on the Destiny's 6 hour trip twice in the past year. We have come home with nice snapper each trip. Cobia, trigger fish, sharks, etc. were caught by others on the boat. I think it is worth the money. I think it was around $140 for the two of us.

How much do you tip? How does that process go? Do you tip the mates and the captain?

White snapper, AJ (amberjack), Trigger fish, Grey Snapper (aka black snapper), Vermillion Grouper, Red Grouper...just a few to get you started.

Tip your mate around 15 to 20% of the cost of the trip. He's working hard and will take good care of you. I didn't see the captain to tip him to be honest so not sure protocol on him.

Ask to reserve a spot at the back of the boat if possible. If not, get there about a half hour early so that you can get the best spot. Joke with/ be nice to the mate(s) and he will give you the best baits, best rods, etc. I took very good care of our mate b/c he stayed with us just about the entire trip and did everything for my gf so that I wouldn't have to and could fish the entire time.

Take a cooler with plenty of water and food and ice, it'll be a hot one. You should be okay, but just in case, the OB swears by Bonine, I usually stare at the horizon until the queasiness dissipates. Boats this size are less apt to cause seasickness tho.

Happy to help.

Sorry but not sure as the one that we were on was out of PCB a few years ago so ask Emily at Sweet Jody.

I'm an OB newbie but from what I've seen so far, remember that proper OB etiquette requires pix of all fish caught with mantoes and a bikini clad you in them.

I've done it a bunch of times and always had fun and caught fish. We used to go in the New Florida Girl. But my friend goes in the American Spirit I think it's called. And he's had tons of fun too.

Too many people and when the guides get you on a spot where everybody is cranking fish up they don't stay long.
I don't get why they do this.

It may be worth your while to drive up to Panama City Beach and fish out of Captain Anderson's Marina

They have a great fleet and Captain Ken Anderson has probably forgotten more numbers offshore than most.....I've found on trips they seem to catch more than the Destin trips & the drive isn't bad. The Captain Anderson is the boat I would select

Thatnks. I've done a couple of the party boats here in PCB, live here, but the reason the Destin party boat interested me is that the Sweet Jody can fish for Red Snapper year round, well as long as they have tags available, and 337tigergirl was planning a trip to Destin back in August so I was curious if they had caught/kept any.
